Sewer Separation Project located in Fulton Hills area of the City CSO 028A

Project Summary and Scope

This project is a requirement of the CSO Special Order by Consent between the City of Richmond and the Virginia State Water Control Board.  The Project is one of two remaining separation projects in the CSO 028 Sewer Shed. This project includes the installation of some separate stormwater collection pipe, sanitary sewer collection pipe, sewer and storm structures, and the deactivation of the downstream sewer regulator.  This separation project will reduce the amount of combined sewer overflows in this area of the City thereby improving the water quality of the James River.

Procurement Documents (although drawings and details about the design will be available from the Procurement office, these documents should be considered as protected by the Homeland Security exception and should not be shared unconditionally with the public.  Anyone requesting access to these documents should complete and sign a FOIA request form with DPU).
  2. No written reports, studies, presentations or other materials prepared for the Council, the City Planning Commission, or similar bodies; for submission to state or federal regulatory bodies; or for the use of the employee or employees with responsibility for managing a project or an aspect of a project.

Milestones will be determined by the Project Schedule submitted by the Contractor.

Project Funding

Total project budget is $6,956,000.

Project Status Updates

Corman Construction, Inc. has been awarded the contract. The construction contract is fully executed.

Current Status: The Pre-Construction Meeting was held on April 26, 2017.  Notice to Proceed was given on May 1, 2017 with a Contract Completion date of September 18, 2018.

Submittals have been under review and the City has been responding to RFI's from the Contractor.  The contractor will be breaking ground on Monday, July 24, 2017. 

Residents should be aware and take precautions as the traffic pattern will change on Williamsburg Ave as construction progresses.

The Contractor will provide a schedule of work and benchmarks and milestones will be identified.
